Ian and I were friends back around 1975. We were at college together, and lost touch soon after. It was only by chance I sadly learned of his premature passing. From what I have read, Ian led a rich and full life, clearly meaning a great deal to many people. Its as much as any of us can ask for. It is easy to say now, but when as young men we fell of motorbikes together, I knew he would do well. I regret seeking him out years ago. Ian was above all else a decent human being.
